The sticky carpet may have gone, but the heart and sole of the Espy remains. Originally known as the Nimrod Room, the Espy’s Front Bar remains one of Australia’s most legendary stages. Since the early days of string performances in the late 1800s the Espy’s hallowed stages have been graced by the finest performers from around Australia and the world.
A physical landmark in St Kilda, and a cultural icon to Australia, the Espy continues this long standing tradition of live music…day in day out the Front Bar plays hosts to bands 7 days a week, with the pub averaging over 50 bands across all three stages every week, most for free.
The Front Bar stage with its stunningly clear and powerful Deltamax system and the recently extended stage truly (not to mention the incredible bay views) is one of any performer’s most coveted stages.
